OUR ORIGINS
Phyto Pro was born of our search for a clean, healing protein to use with clients in our integrated medicine practice in Cape Town, South Africa.
We asked our clients to leave animal food products behind because of the antibiotic, heavy metal and hormonal contaminants contained in meat and whey, and step away from rice and soy protein because of the anti-nutrients, digestion-inhibitors and xenoestrogens contained therein. But this left a huge protein gap – protein is necessary for both growth and healing.

Why Plant Based?
Plant-based diets are defined by what they add in, and not by what they leave out, as in the case of vegan and vegetarian diets.

Dr Yesheen Singh
Yesheen is a medical doctor with a passion for the medicinal benefits of eating well. “Food as medicine” has become a personal mantra that Yesheen lives by and the impacts of lifestyle and nutrition on epigenetics and health are ongoing fields of interest to him. He holds additional qualifications in business and entrepreneurship (MBA) and public health (MPH) from the University of Cape Town. He follows a plant-based lifestyle and is an avid yoga practitioner, ocean swimmer and mountain hiker with an aspiration to pick up free-diving.
Remo Belluco
Remo is a lifelong entrepreneur with a passion for the beauty and healing benefits of food. He is an experienced restaurateur who graduated to life as a popular plant-based nutritional coach and now spends his time nurturing Phyto Pro into the premier plant-based nutrition company globally. Remo follows a plant-based lifestyle and is a keen cyclist and trail runner but spends most of his activity time walking his Jack Russell in the forests and mountains around Cape Town.
